26 - 27 Stand Against Racism - Join us the last Friday of April each year as we kick-off the day by serving a light Continental breakfast at the YWCA! We will learn from a panel of immigrants from countries ranging from Colombia, to Samoa, to the Phillipines and Mexico. Our panel will discuss what their experiences were like, as they immigrated to our country and our community. It will be an enlightening event.

Stand Against Racism is a national event that began in Trenton NJ in 2006. It is a movement across the country with the am of bringing people together from all walks of life - to raise awareness that racism still exists.

27 Walk Against Racism - Join us at 8:30 am Saturday after the annual "Stand Against Raciasm" on the last Friday as we "Walk Against Racism" from the YWCA south on Locust St, to Skagway and then back to the YWCA.

Musical entertainment, Morgan Woode of Fanti Way will conclude the walk, as well as light refreshments.

As an organization committed to eliminating racism and discrimination, we are working hard to bring awareness to an issue that needs to be resolved. We are here thereby making an effort to walk for peace and equality in our community.

27 Annual Duck Derby - The duck derby is a fund raising event that has grown into a community festival. Duck adoptions will be available for $5 each. The winners will receive prizes valued between $100 and $2,500. Proceeds benefit Leadership Tomorrow and Youth Leadership Tomorrow. There will be children's games, activities and food vendors. Doors open at 8:30AM and the duck derby begins at 10AM. Families can enjoy FREE carnival type games with prizes. Area organizations also provide activities such as an obstacle course and large blow-up jumper. Come take your picture with our giant duck, take a chance at winning great prizes and let your children enjoy a fun morning in a wonderful facility. 8:30 am to 11:00 am

10 - 12 Husker Harvest Days - The world’s largest totally irrigated working farm show is held every Fall. It's the western corn belt's leading agricultural showcase and the area's largest and most complete farm show. See the newest tractors, combines and harvesters, grain-handling equipment, and irrigation technologies.
