Annual Gathering of Kansas Authors - Outstanding Kansas authors from across the state will join together for the Annual Gathering of Kansas Authors at Kansas Originals Market & Gallery from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m.

Over twenty Kansas authors from across Kansas will be on hand to meet the public. These author's have written books in every genre including fiction, humor, historical, young adult, cookbooks, religious, photography and publications of art. Whether you like to read, enjoy visiting, or would like a little entertainment on a Sunday afternoon, stop by Kansas Originals Market & Gallery for this incredible gathering of Kansas authors. Refreshments of Kansas appetizers and snacks will be provided.

The Post Rock Opportunities Foundation, a not-for-profit corporation, which was founded to promote Kansas Artists, craftsmen and food producers, operates Kansas Originals Market & Gallery. Located on the north side of the Wilson I-70 exit 206. For a complete list of authors attending, see website.

27 - 28 Wilson Walleye Tournament - The KWA welcomes anglers of all ages. It is tournament fishing for fun. Many of our teams consist of men and women, parent and child, grandparent and grandchild, cousins, friends and co-workers. Membership in the KWA is not required to enter any of our tournaments.

KS0803021e003 - Wilson Annual Fabric, Fiber and Quilt Event - Live Alpacas and demonstrations on the use of the spinning wheel by Sister Terry Wasinger, from Heartland Farms near Pawnee Rock, will only be a part of the excitement at Kansas Originals Market and Gallery on Sunday. The Annual Fabric, Fiber and Quilt Event will begin at 11 a.m. and continue until 3 p.m.

Andrea Nisly, Partridge, - Collectible Dolls Andrea grew up in Switzerland, married a Kansas farmer and moved to Kansas in 1995.

Judy Wahaus, Salina, - Raku Pottery She uses horsehair fibers as part of the design.

Lutie Riedel, Hays, - Tatting Some of her most popular pieces are her tatted handkerchiefs for weddings.

Inez Hamilton, Topeka, - Embroidery Especially interesting are her wall and window banners representing different branches of the United States Armed Services.

Sarah Steele, Topeka, - Quilting Sarah has hand-quilted over 100 quilts.

Sharon Franzen, Wichita, - Embroidery Many of her framed wall hangings portray heartfelt and sacred rural themes.

Lucile Hall, Hays, - bears, dolls and a variety of soft sculpture pieces. "Sewing is my whole life."

Refreshments featuring Kansas foods will be served throughout the hours of the event. The Board of Directors of the Post Rock Opportunities Foundation and the staff of Kansas Originals invite everyone to attend this Event to visit with these fiber artists and see the live alpacas.

19 - 20KS0803021e001 - Wilson After Harvest Czech Festival - The Wilson After Harvest Czech Festival is one of the largest festivals in Ellsworth County Kansas. Hosted by the small rural community of Wilson, total population under 800, the festival is known to bring in thousands from all across Kansas and neighboring states.

The festival brings out the costumes, dances, food, fun and celebrations to maintain Wilson's claim to being the Czech Capital of Kansas! The Czech Festival is located in downtown Wilson. Last Saturday in July EVERY year-- activities start Friday afternoon.

14KS0803021e004 - Wilson Kansas Originals Spirit of Kansas Art Fair and Fun Day - 2015 information below -- 2016 not yet confirmed -- call number below -- check back for date and more information.

The Eric Vaughn Magic Review will be the featured entertainment at the Kansas Originals Spirit of Kansas Art Fair and Fun Day sponsored by the Post Rock Opportunities Foundation. Eric Vaughn's act, which begins at 4:00 pm, is fast- paced and entertaining for audiences of all ages.

The activities will begin at noon with easy-listening music by the Country Cousins, Jim Lawson, Larry Nelson and Wendell Cowan. At 2:00 Omer Knoll will demonstrate The Art of Sculpture. Tommie Berger will present Aquatic Critters Big & Small at 2:30 followed by Galen Schmidtberger who will perform John Denver Remembered.

There will be hands-on art for the young and young-at-heart. Omer Knoll, Palco, will teach sculpturing, supplies will be provided to create your own sculpture, and Lynn Schneider, Lucas, will offer supplies and instruction on a stained glass project for children.

There will be artists, craftsmen, authors and food producers demonstrating, entertaining and providing food samples from 12:00 until 4:00 in the afternoon. Included will be Wanda Squib, Wichita, showing how her wooden baskets are made. Gary Hawk, Iola, will demonstrate how he paints his original rural, western & wildlife watercolors. Tom Mach, Lawrence, author of Sissy and All Parts Together and Lora Reiter, Ottawa, author of One Was Annie, will discuss their books. Sherri Kuntz, Wakeeney, will sample her Smelly Jellys and other scented products. Melinda Hickman, Russell, will be on hand to discuss her pen and ink originals on limestone and wood.

Other activities and entertainment include a silent auction from 12:00 until 4:45 and a live auction of 20 exceptional art and craft pieces beginning at 5:00 p.m. Free drawings for a variety of art, craft and food items will be held every half hour for children and adults. Lunch will be available on the grounds.

The afternoon's activities will conclude with a roast beef and pork BBQ catered by Mr. T's Catering Service at 6:00. A $10 donation to the Foundation includes the BBQ and drawings for $600 in prizes. The day's events will be held under the big tent in the parking lot.

Kansas Originals Market and Gallery is operated by the Post Rock Opportunities Foundation, a 501(c)3 not-for-profit corporation, which is celebrating sixteen years of supporting Kansas artists, craftsmen and food producers. This event is sponsored in part by the Kansas Arts Commission and the National Endowment of the Arts. Kansas Originals Market & Gallery is located on Interstate 70 exit 206 north of Wilson.
