Treats, eggs, and goodies are provided by the Chamber of Commerce and local businesses. 13 - 17 Woodson County Fair - The Woodson County Fair takes place every July at the county fair grounds. Young people and 4H members from across the county come to compete and show off their livestock, baked goods, artwork, and other projects. The weeklong event is family fun for everyone.

26 Yates Center Trunk or Treat - One of the newest traditions in Yates Center is the Halloween trunk or treat event. It begins with a costume parade around the square, followed by "trunk or treating" decorated vehicles parked around the square. Prizes are awarded for the best costumes by age group, and to the best decorated trunks. Kids of all ages are welcome to parade and collect treats. Anyone can bring a car, candy, and decorations to participate.
