10 - 11 Northport Heritage Festival - Northport's Heritage Festival brings together artisans & crafters, musicians, children's activities, food and fun for everyone in the Historic Downtown District. The Festival is a celebration of Northport's heritage, culture and community pride, providing wholesome entertainment for the entire family.

The Festival will kickoff on Friday with Northport's Annual Homecoming Luncheon, hosted by Friends of Historic Northport and the City of Northport. Hours for the free street festival are 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday. This day will kickoff at 8 a.m. with a 5K Prediction Run beginning at 5th and Main in downtown. Art, crafts, music, and entertainment will begin at 10 a.m. and continue throughout the day.

Presented and produced by the City of Northport and the Friends of Historic Northport the event is expected to attract between 5,000 - 10,000 visitors to a full slate of family-oriented activities, non-stop musical entertainment and the eclectic flavors of food vendors and local restaurateurs.

Handmade works to be exhibited may include paintings, pottery, jewelry, furniture, woodworking, ornamental iron, stained glass, photography, home and garden accents, birdhouses, leatherwork, and much more. Entertainment will include: An exhibit, presentation and demonstration by the Black Warrior Row Club; A Drama depicting events from Northport's history presented by the Friends of Historic Northport; Dance and music by local artists and churches and much more.

In addition to arts and crafts, the festival offers a special area of children's activities on Main Street between The Stephens Gallery and Doug Hollyhand Realty. Free entertainment is offered continuously either on the stage located on Main Avenue near the Maxwell-Peters House or in various venues throughout the festival area.

12 - 13AL0220321e001 - Northport Kentuck Festival of the Arts - Kentuck has a rich 50-year history as a nationally known crossroads of creativity and community. Every year, over 10,000 travel from across the United States to become immersed in a Southern experience of prolific creativity rarely found at other festivals. Having roots in folk art, the two-day festival features 270+ artists, live music, spoken word, activities for children, folk and contemporary craft demonstrations, food trucks, and local craft brews.

Featured in numerous publications, Kentuck Festival of the Arts was most recently recognized by Alabama Department of Tourism as one of the top-ten events to attend in Alabama in 2018 and by Alabama Magazine as one of the "Best of Bama 2018."

Kentuck has also been featured in Smithsonian Magazine, Southern Living, American Style Magazine, and National Geographic Traveler. In 2018, the Festival was named 5th in the nation (based on artists' self-reported sales) in the category of Classic and Contemporary Craft Shows by Sunshine Artists Magazine.

The Kentuck Festival of the Arts takes place the third weekend in October every year. Festival hours are Saturday: 9a.m. - 5p.m. and Sunday: 9a.m. - 5p.m.
