December

9 Holidays in Powell -

Bells will be ringing and carolers will be signing during Holidays in Powell on Saturday, December 1, 2007 from Noon to 5:30 P.M. at Village Green Park and in historic downtown Powell. The afternoon will be filled with holiday cheer, warm food offerings, holiday songs of old and plenty of merriment.

Holiday revelers can also see and hear live musical performances, pick up a bag of delicious homemade kettle corn while strolling around, take a horse and carriage ride for a unique seasonal experience, or pick up that perfect one-of-a-kind gift in our downtown shopping district.

For our little visitors, we offer a magical ride on our miniature Polar Express train where they'll hear the train conductor calling out "All Aboard!". Of course, our festivities wouldn't be complete without a visit from jolly ol' Saint Nick. Santa Claus, Ms. Claus, and a few of his elves arrive by fire truck to greet and meet children. Reindeer from the north pole will also be on display for visitors to view them upclose.

At the end of the evening, the Mayor and Santa Claus flip the switch to turn on the official City Christmas tree!
