24 Annual Fishing Derby - Kids 18 and under come out to Lake Florence at Heritage Park and reel in the big one. Catch a fish with a tag and bring it to the Parks and Recreation canopy to win a prize. The fisherman with the heaviest catch of the night wins the grand prize.

Food vendors will be present so be sure to bring extra money.

1 - 2 Showdown on Main Pitmaster Challenge - Come join us for this great Annual BBQ Competition in Downtown Florence, Arizona, the first weekend of November. Right on Main St. the street will be closed off, and will have lots of great BBQ Teams there competing for Top Pitmaster and their share of the $5000 Purse.
Come on out and join us.

22 - 24 Florence Jr. Parada Rodeo - The Florence Jr. Parada Rodeo is the Nation's Oldest continuous junior rodeo. There will be novelty events as well as "regular" rodeo events.

Participants are ages 5-18.

The annual Florence Jr. Parada Rodeo is known as the "Cowboy Cradle of the Great Southwest" - home to many World Renowned Rodeo Cowboys.

Time: Parade 10am; Rodeo 1pM

Nicholas Saloon

The earliest fired-brick building still standing in Florence and the town's second oldest brick structure, the second Nicholas Saloon and Beer Hall was built in 1889 for John Nicholas. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

In 1888, Florence staged her most famous gunfight between ex-sheriff, Pete Gabriel and his former deputy, Joe Phy. The shooting started in the Tunnel Saloon and ended in the middle of Main Street. Gabriel survived; Phy died a few hours later. Also surviving the showdown was a 6 x 4
