Winter Antics at Milliken State Park
- Winter Antics at Milliken State Park. Saturday, February 15th from 11-2 pm. Time for some winter hijinks! We're offering up snowshoeing, bonfires & s'mores, snow games like tug-o-war, tips on winter wear and staying warm, all while watching those brave souls take the plunge in the Detroit River to benefit Special Olympics Michigan. No need to bring anything ... just your warmly-dressed selves. This event is FREE, courtesy of the Detroit RiverFront Conservancy, Moosejaw and the Michigan DNR. Wetlands Walk & Cruise the Cut
- Join Michigan Department of Natural Resources and the Detroit RiverFront Conservancy for a FREE day of exploring Detroit’s Urban Trails— Milliken State Park Wetlands & The Dequindre Cut. *Walking tours of Milliken State Park wetlands—led by DNR Park Naturalists 45 minute tours will start at the South West entrance at Rivard Plaza at 12PM, 1PM, & 2PM. *Chat & Chew with herbal specialist Ravin Regina Lawson about the herbal plants along the riverfront. *Self-guided tours of the Dequindre Cut to Eastern Market, where participants will receive something special from the Market. *Discounted bike rentals from Wheelhouse Detroit bike shop and discounted Segway Rentals from SEMSEG, but feel free to bring your own wheels.
