Cowboys on the Coast Motorcycle Rally
- Thousands of motorcyclists will salute all veterans at the Annual Cowboys on the Coast Motorcycle Rally at Ford Park in Beaumont, Texas. This year's rally promises to be even bigger than past rallies as motorcycle enthusiasts and Veterans from Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Arkansas roll into Southeast Texas. - The Young Men's Business League (YMBL) is pleased to announce that Ford Arena in Beaumont will be the center of action as the highest paid cowboys in the country compete at the Annual YMBL Championship Rodeo. Immediately following the rodeo performances, all patrons will be entertained by featured Texas country music acts. Ford Exhibit Hall will be turned into the Texas Music Chute Club complete with a Texas Size Dance Floor, and a concert line up that's over the top! Camp Lookinback
- CAMP LOOKINBACK, Summer Fun and Adventures Tuesdays and Thursdays in June, July and August 9:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. The Beaumont Heritage Society invites students who will enter 1st - 6th grades, to visit the John Jay French Museum on selected Tuesdays and Thursdays. We will take a glance back to times long ago & experience history first hand. This year there will also be a 1/2 day Kindergarten-only Session. All camps will be held on the grounds of the Museum and in Heritage Hall. This year's adventures are as follows: June 12. Take an imaginary trip down the ole Mississippi on a flat boat, and march into Texas led by a bagpiper, playing home made band instruments. June 14 On These Grounds - Now that we've traveled to Texas, let's build our home. Make a scale model of the John J French Museum and property. June 19 Weaving Time and Cultures Multi-cultural day! We'll see African American, Mexican Folkloric, and Native American Dancers. We'll tap our feet to Cajun music with the Gulf Coast Cajuns, and hear stories from Rosa Guidry. We'll also make quilts to represent weaving the cultures together. June 21 Deep in the Heart of Texas Experience a day on the frontier with new activities and crafts related to Texas. July 24 Trying Times. Learn about the civil war and do leather crafts July 26 I Can Dig It!. Charlie Bollich will be here to teach about Archeology and we'll see what we can dig up! August 7 Kindergaten Only Day 9:00A.M. - 12 NOON or 1:00P.M - 4:00P.M Lots of fun crafts and games!.Live the pioneer life! August 9 Rise and Shine with Sally Open House! Parents, pack your lunches for a summer time picnic with your child at noon. While here, view the exhibit of projects the kids have worked on all summer. All summer camp Participants are invited to pick up their projects at this time. Register as soon as possible due to class size limitations. Genealogy Luncheon
- The Beaumont Heritage Society is hosting a "Genealogy Luncheon" at the Bistro LeMonde. 12 noon-2pm. Do you want to start researching your family history, but don't know where to begin? Have you started researching but don't know how to continue? Penny Clark, archivist at the Tyrrell Historical Library, will be answering these questions and many more as she talks about the steps to take when you are tracing your family history. She will identify resources and answer any questions you may have. Please join us and learn all of the tried-and-true methods you can apply when you trace your family tree.
