31 - 3 Crawford County Fair - Held annually the first full week of August at the Crawford County Fairgrounds. Four-H Clubs, extension homemaker clubs, and agricultural groups display their fruits, vegetables and other homegrown and homemade projects. The livestock auction allows 4-H members to display and sell their livestock. In addition to touring the displays, there is even more family fun at the carnival, rodeo and demolition derby.

12 Girard Homecoming and Fall Festival - Come celebrate Fall with a parade, car show, craft and food booths, entertainment, bean feed, and much more. Sponsored by the Girard Area Chamber of Commerce, the tradition continues all around the Crawford County Courthouse square.

Henry Laurens Call Home

This is the home of Socialist lawyer, author, and lecturer, Henry Laurens Call. Call built the first airplane west of the Mississippi River in 1908. It was called the "Girard Airship", dubbed by the townspeople as the "Mayfly" because, "it may fly!" It didn't. Call built fourteen planes in all.
