27 Covington County Relay For Life Beauty Pageant - The Miss Covington County Relay for Life pageant is open to all young ladies between the ages of 0-19 years. Sponsored by the Mizell Memorial Hospital Relay for Life Team, the pageant will be held in the conference center of LBW Community College - MacArthur Campus in Opp. Registration is $30 per contestant ($20 each if two or more contestants are siblings), with an optional photogenic competition for an additional $10. Registration forms are available at Mizell Memorial Hospital and the Chamber of Commerce in Opp, Beau Monde and Chamber of Commerce in Andalusia, Wachovia Bank in Florala, Kinston School, and Elba City Hall. Deadline to register is Friday, Feb. 2, 2007. All funds raised through the event will be donated to the American Cancer Society.

9 - 16 Opp Jaycees Rattlesnake Rodeo - Once a year the population of Opp, Alabama increases dramatically when people from all over the south come to Opp for the Opp Rattlesnake Rodeo. This past years' Rodeo drew an estimated 20,000 people to the festival.

The festival includes rattlesnake demonstrations, a songwriter competition, arts, crafts, and all kinds of food including fried rattlesnake. The festival also has big name musical acts on Friday and Saturday. The Opp Rattlesnake Rodeo is held the first full weekend in April.

12 OppFest - Downtown—Music, other entertainment, antique car show, Taste of Opp featuring grand old recipes and home cooking, talent show, antique show and sale, youth art exhibit, needlework exhibit, food vendors and craft exhibitors. Laser and light show in evening. Last Saturday.
