30 - 2 Nassau Sport Fishing Kingfish Tournament of Champions - Held at the downtown marina in Fernandina Beach, this has become the third largest event on the Southern Kingfish Association tournament trail drawing in many participants and spectators. This four-day event includes a fish fry community dinner, music, festivities and fishing fun. Major cash awards are given to the top angler, lady angler and youth angler.

4 Fernandina's July 4th & Families Festival - Join your family, neighbors and friends at Central Park to celebrate Independence Day. Activities planned are Public Safety Vehicles Display (police cars, fire trucks and more), Best Baked Apple Pie Contest, Parent-Child Look-A-Like Contest, Fun for the Kids crafts area, music and an arts & crafts show. Join in the evening parade at 7:30 p.m. through downtown Fernandina Beach, followed by a concert starting at 8:30 p.m. and fireworks at dark courtesy of the City of Fernandina Beach. 4:00 PM - 10:00 PM.

7 Fiesta de Santa Maria - A festival celebrating the historic Latin heritage of Amelia Island. Enjoy Latin cuisine from local restaurants, music and dancing, plus a marketplace with a variety of vendors.

12 - 15 Amelia Book Island Festival - Offering four days of lively programs, socials and special events, when book-lovers and writers mingle with noted authors and publishing professionals in a casual, friendly setting. Held at Meeting Rooms/Courtyard Complex of St. Peter's Episcopal Church and various venues throughout Fernandina Beach. Many programs are free, all ages welcome. Tickets sold for certain events.

19 Annual History of the American Soldier - Join them under the stars at Fort Clinch State Park at 7 p.m. as they salute veterans of the Armed Forces with a time line review of the American Soldier (1776-2004) Bring your lawn chairs and blankets.
