12 - 16 Mighty Howard County Fair - The heart and soul of the Fair is dedicated to the 4-H and FFA members of the area. Numerous livestock shows and static exhibits and competitions featuring the area youth highlight the Fair.

The Mighty HowardCounty Fairs feature a free gate, free parking and a pay-one-price grandstand button, which gives the button purchaser admission to all the grandstand shows for a single affordable price. The Fair offers to fairgoers a wide variety of grandstand entertainment, including the nationally know entertainers, the up and coming regional acts and depending on availability several other types of entertainments. These have included rodeos, stock car races, demo derbies, thrill shows, and other track related entertainment venues.

21 Fly-In Breakfast - Come out to Ellen Church Field (named for America's first Stewardess) for breakfast and airplanes. Omelets and pancakes made on site and many planes to view and ride! Tandem skydiving also takes place. Sponsored by Cresco Area Chamber of Commerce.

21 Annual Cresco Fine Arts Show - From 10:00am - 4:00pm come out to Beadle Park in Cresco and see artists display their art as they compete for cash prizes and even sell their creations. This long-standing event draws artists and art lovers from all over!

7 - 8 Norman Borlaug Harvest Fest - Annual Events
The Cresco Area Chamber of Commerce is responsible for many events and programs in the Cresco community. Some of these events are held strictly as fundraisers and networking opportunities for Chamber members while other events are celebrations that attract tourists and give our residents a reason to celebrate something special. The Chamber also partners with many other non-profit organizations for other special events not listed here. Norman Borlaug Harvest Fest

The NBHF is held on the 3rd weekend in September in downtown Cresco. It includes so many fun activities we can't possibly list them all but they include kid's games, live music, parade, flea market, farmer's market, Cruise to Cresco Car Show, Gravel Grinder Duathlon, Quilt Auction, Bean Bag Tourney, Little Miss Cresco Contest, 3-on-3 Basketball Tourney, CROP Walk, Food and Fun. The fest is named in honor of Dr. Norman Borlaug, who grew up on a farm southwest of Cresco and graduated from Cresco High School. He then went on to save millions of lives from starvation and is considered one of world's most important humanitarians. He is one of only 6 people in the world to win the Nobel Prize, the Presidential Medal of Freedom and the Congressional Gold Medal.
