22 Annual Heritage Day and Wood Kiln Opening - Enjoy mountain music with The Dollar Brother, Glenn Bolick and Friends, and more. Storytelling with Fred Frawley and Orville Hicks. Vendors include handmade chairs, pottery, spinning wheels, wooden bowls, spoons, baskets, quilts, iron work, wood carvings, and more. An interactive quilting party and a Gee Haw Whimmie Diddle Contest. Food will be served. Free admission, bring chairs, no coolers, pets, or alcohol. Always the Last Saturday in June.

12 - 13 NC Blackberry Festival - The North Carolina Blackberry Festival offers summer fun to all visitors - without the chiggers! In Caldwell County, blackberries are a part of every day life - children beg to go pick from the wild berries lining every bank and mothers take what isn't eaten during the day for cobblers. Blackberry cobblers and jam are a strong part of local heritage.

* The Blackberry Princess pageant will kick off the event beginning at 10 a.m.
* Vendors with handmade items
* A wide selection of music will hit the main stage beginning at 1pm.
* Blackberry Eating Contest
* A children's area will offer free fun throughout the day on the Square sponsored by the Family Resource Center in Lenoir.

30 - 1 Historic Happy Valley Old-time Fiddlers Convention - Labor Day Weekend. Located on the site of Laura Foster's grave of the Tom Dooley fame, the convention offers old-time and bluegrass group and individual competitions. Along with instrument playing, the event offers folk singing, instrument making, old-time dance demonstrations, hayride tours, corn shucking, flat foot competitions, and local home-cooked delicacies.
The Jones Farm is on N.C. 268 in Caldwell County, 8.2 miles east of US 321 and 18.4 miles west from US 421.

7 Annual Sculpture Celebration - Some 200 pieces of sculpture will dot the landscape of the gently rolling J.E. Broyhill Park as participating artists from across the United States compete for prizes and purchase awards. The public can enjoy a close-up look at eclectic and traditional 3-dimensional art. The event includes live music, on-site food trucks, and free shuttle service to and from off-site parking. Held annually the Saturday after Labor Day.

17 Lenoir Folk Art and Antique Celebration - The Lenoir Folk Art and Antique Celebration will take place in downtown Lenoir in conjunction with The Caldwell Art Council's Annual Sculpture Celebration that takes place at the JE Broyhill Park in downtown Lenoir. All that attend can look forward to fine arts and crafts, antiques, live music, children's activities, food, artisan demonstrations, clogging, a live auction and more. Lenoir, NC is 20 miles southeast of Blowing Rock and 18 miles northwest of Hickory.
