2 - 12 Lancaster Festival - Summer's Sizzling Salute to the Arts. Over 25 years for this world-class music and arts festival featuring the Lancaster Festival Orchestra, conducted by Festival Artistic Director, Gary Sheldon.

Indoor and outdoor venues are used to present 75 artists and events during these ten days, most with free admission. Churches, parks, fairgrounds, city streets, campus venues, historic buildings and the local mall are just some of the locations where the arts are presented to the community.

Historic Lancaster, located approximately 30 miles southeast of Columbus, is the bridge between the dynamic, urban activity of Columbus, and the natural wonders and beauties of southern Ohio. Lancaster has been recognized as one of the nation's best "small arts towns" because of its active art community and the highly successful Festival.

3 Cemetery History Walk - Visit citizens of the 1800's who came from throughout eastern United Sates to make Ohio their home. Period appropriate costumed reenactors bring these individuals to life and celebrate their achievements and stories. Elmwood Cemetery is the oldest burial location in Lancaster.The 5:00 tour is easiest to walk around with guides sharing local myths and folklore. By 6:30, the lanterns are lit and the beauty of the terrain comes to life. By 8:00 the moon adds to the allure of the walk. This event helps bring our past into focus and enables understanding of what has gone before to make our lives what they are in present day. Visitors are always entranced with the cemetery and the fact that history is not just dates but the stories of the lives of real people who made a difference.
