6 - 9 Cy Young Days Festival - The Cy Young Days Festival is held each year at Newcomerstown, Ohio. The festival honors Cy Young and the game he loved. A portion of the proceeds from the festival helps support the local Cy Young Youth League which provides summer baseball & softball activities to approx 300 - 400 boys & girls ages 4 - 15.

Cy Young was born March 29, 1867 in Gilmore, Ohio, near Newcomerstown. Being a farm boy he worked hard at his chores but tried to find time for baseball. Farm work kept him strong all of his life, which in the off season and after his retirement, was spent in the Newcomerstown area. There is a display of Cy Young memorabilia in the Temperance Tavern Museum located in Newcomerstown.
