18OK0610029e003 - Ponca City Annual Herb Festival - Grab your basket, don a straw hat and take a stroll through the many stalls of herbs, crafts and unique gifts at Ponca City's June Herb Festival celebrating the gardening spirit at the beautiful LA Cann Gardens, a 10 acre showcase of color, texture, fragrance and landscape architectural beauty.

The festival offers vendors, music, food, plants and a number of seminars throughout the day on herbs, horticulture and outdoor design. Expect sessions on growing and using herbs, garden recipes, wildflowers, herbal teas and bath products, roses and landscaping.

There will be over 80 vendors from across the Midwest. Lots of returning vendors plus lots and lots news vendors. Offering a wide variety of herbs, annual and perennial plants, gardening accessories, plus lots of art and crafts.

1 Annual Multi-Cultural Rodeo - The annual multi-cultural rodeo will be held in Ponca City to commemorate Juneteenth, the annual commemoration of the ending of slavery in the United States. 8:00 PM. The rodeo will be sponsored by Attucks Community Alliance and Ponca City Network Group (PCNG).

Competitions will include tie down calf roping, steer wrestling, team roping, ladies barrels, junior barrels (15 and under), peewee barrels (8 and under), bull riding and a special Pony Express Race. First-place prizes range from $260 to $290. Entry fees are $100.

14 - 15 Juneteenth Celebration - The Celebration will have games and events for children, 3 on 3 Basketball (entry and fee required), Bingo, music and free lunch.

6 - 7 Old-Time Cowboy Trader Days & Campout - This event will feature cowboy trade goods, chuckwagon food, live cowboy bands and entertainers, professional cowboy gunfighters, cowboy cow camps, gunfighters, gamblers, etc. All of the entertainers and performers will depict the period of pre-1840 through the Victorian era.

31OK0610029e015 - Ponca City Cherokee Strip Chili & Bar-B-Q Cook-Off - Chili and barbecue are the only menu choices on the grounds of the Lake Ponca Concession Area at the annual Cherokee Strip Chili Cook-Off and the Oklahoma State Barbecue Championship. All proceeds benefit Hospice of North Central Oklahoma. Chili and barbecue chefs arrive in Ponca City with favorite recipes and special ingredients ready to showcase their exclusive formulas. Hundreds of community volunteers make this annual event possible.

Even the young chefs market their cooking skills in the children's barbecue division. Macaroni and cheese from a box may be the recipe of choice for many young cooks, but these youth take pride in their culinary skills.

5 - 6 Oktoberfest - Oktoberfest - Something For Everyone - This year's festival will take place Saturday from 10:00a.m. to 7:00p.m. and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and as always, plenty of crafts, food for all tastes, continuous live entertainment and a classic car show.

Don't forget to mosey on over to Unity Gym, the location of many more arts and craft vendors.

A shuttle bus will run continuously from the JC Penney north parking lot to the Mansion. On Saturday you can catch a ride from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Sunday from 11:00a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Proceeds benefit the Marland Mansion. Remember no ticket lines, sales go directly to the vendors. So come join your friends, family and neighbors for this annual fun filled event.
