Annual Glade Top Trail Run
- The trail run starts at an easy 1 mile run/walk on gravel roads. The 4.25 and 10.25 mile trail race has extremely challenging terrain. Participants should be physically prepared for water crossings, log barriers, deep gullies, and uneven running surfaces. All races start at 9:00am. Awards: 1st overall male and female 1st overall masters male and female Top 3 in each age group Special finisher awards for top times on 10mile race After this fall the plan for 2022 will be to go back to the first Saturday in April. The most important thing is we are very pleased and thankful this year's Pat Souder Henry scholarships will still be awarded just as they have been every year for the last 8 years. Missouri Foxtrotters Spring Show
- Each June, horses from across the country make their way to the MFTHBA World Headquarters to take part in the MFTHBA’s Spring Show and Three Year Old Futurity. This four day event, includes performance, model, versatility, ranch sorting and ranch horse competition. The highlight of the competition in the ring is the annual Three Year Old Futurity. During this event, three year old horses make the showing debut highlighting the disposition and performance of the Missouri Fox Trotting Horse. The event also includes daily organized trail riders, youth seminar, vendors and other special events. Advertising and sponsor opportunities are available. - We will have a Livestock Show, Face Painting, Bounce Houses, Live Music, Craft Vendors, Games, Lawnmower Derby, Little Tykes Derby, Bone-Stock Derby and a Semi-Stock Derby! Fun for everyone! Demolition Derby
- We will have 2 separate classes of cars. We will be running a "Cleanup" Derby for those Semi-Stock Cars and we have also added a "Bone-Stock" Class. Gates open at Noon and the Derby will start at 2pm. Concessions available. We also accept Credit/Debit cards (3% fee applies). Saturday of the Douglas County Fair. Annual Missouri Fox Trotter Fall Show & Celebration
- World class competition can be found each September at the World Show and Celebration. Held the week of Labor Day, this event includes performance, model, versatility, ranch sorting and ranch horse competition. In addition to the competition in the ring, attendees can take advantage of the daily organized trail rides. Various special events are hosted throughout the week including educational seminars and clinics. The event also includes various vendors for those that like to shop. Glade Top Trail Flaming Fall Revue Festival
- Each year the Ava Chamber of Commerce sponsors an outdoor fall festival at the Caney Picnic Area on the third Saturday in October. The Flaming Fall Revue will feature an outdoor church service at 10:30 a.m. followed by live music, fall activities, pumpkin painting, exhibits and local artists, a dessert auction and various dinner options for purchase pulled pork, beans and ham, hot dogs, drinks. 10:30am - 3:30pm.
