19 - 21 Durango Bluegrass Meltdown Festival - Kick off spring time fun at the annual Durango Bluegrass Meltdown. There will be loads of bands, food, venues and entertainment through town and along the Animas River. Friday night, there will be free concert for everyone to enjoy, followed by hours of concerts at night. During the Meltdown, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to jam with other musicians – in hallways, on sidewalks, and many other locations. Don’t play? Relax and enjoy the scene!

The Durango Arts Center, Wildhorse Saloon, and and other popular venues all provide outstanding venues to listen to bluegrass artists from across the country.

The Meltdown has something for everyone – including young folks! From our Bluegrass in the Schools program, to children’s workshops and the Old Time Barn Dance, there’s a lot for the younger set to do. Kids 12 and under are FREE!

26 - 27 Durango Wine Experience - At the end of April, come for the weekend to celebrate food & wine in Durango! Experience three delicious days of educational seminars, wine dinners and unique tastings featuring hundreds of wineries, artisan spirits and craft beers.

The Walk-About Durango is our signature, casual, multi-location, downtown Durango tasting event on Friday from 4-7.

Top local chefs are showcased and the finest wineries, distributors, breweries and distilleries from around the world are featured at the Grand Tasting on Saturday from 3:30-6:30pm.

28 - 1 July 4TH In Durango - July 4th celebration in Historic Downtown Durango will feature a whole weekend of festivities and events! Things will kick off on in Buckley Park with Outdoor Movie Night. The night will include music by Stillwater Youth Bands and Bike Decorating for the 4th of July Parade.

Next, at the transit center, kick up your heels for a Street Dance and watch the drone show. Stop by the Powerhouse Science Center for a free music event called Rockin' on the River featuring Elder Grown. And for the big event on July 4th, this day will be packed with multiple events including an All American Breakfast at Rotary park, free music at Buckley park, picnic, concerts, fun bike and running races and capped off with the 4th of July parade down Historic Main Avenue!

4 - 28 Music in the Mountains Classical Music Festival - Music in the Mountain's mission is to produce an exceptional summer music festival with musicians of the highest caliber; entertain, educate and delight audiences with the richness of classical music, and complement concerts with year-round educational programs for youth.

5 - 7 Annual Four Corners Gem & Mineral Show - With 56 years of experience, the Four Corners Gem & Mineral Club really knows how to put on a show. Sixty Dealers from across the U.S. will sell extraordinary rocks, gems, minerals crystals, fossils, meteorites, geodes, shells, and beads from around the world, as well as jewelry, equipment, tools, findings and MORE!

A wide range of classes are offered in Lapidary and Metalsmith techniques.
Fun and free activities for the kids, such as gold panning and treasure hunts.
Delicious food and beverage service too!
The event features large indoor and outdoor exhibition areas; indoor venues are air-conditioned.
