13 Walking to STOP Child Abuse - The Family Violence Prevention Center of Greene County (FVPC) and Greene County Children Services, together with event sponsor the Xenia Chrome Divas, will host “Walking to STOP Child Abuse,” a 5K walk/run, in recognition of National Child Abuse Prevention Month in April. This is an opportunity for individuals and families to direct their energies toward an important cause: to support the survivors of child abuse and domestic violence, and to help our children find their voice and stay safe. All proceeds will go toward funding programs to prevent and to end child and family violence.

31 - 1 Beavercreek Heritage Days and Herb Days - There will be old fashioned activities for children including: make a rag doll, talk to a woodcarver, make a top, visit the seed savers, use a washboard, pet small animals, shell corn, make and Indian bracelet, and coloring. In addition, there will be wagon rides with horses, Hank and Hobby. A free cookie goes to any child who completes the children's activities.

The houses of Wartinger Park will be open to the public. They are the 1803 Harshman House, 1805 Jarusiewic Cabin (replica), 1811 Nicodemus House, and 1828 Ankeney House. The 1858 Tobias...Zimmer Barn will be open as well. The Kittyhawk Squares will be square dancing in the 1858 Tobias...Zimmer Barn from 3:30 pm-5:00 pm on Saturday.

The Flower Trail Garden Club will hold their annual herb sale in the 1811 Nicodemus House featuring dried herbal creations made from the herb gardens at Wartinger Park.

Old fashioned crafts will be displayed and sold throughout the grounds, as well. As always, hot pioneer food will be sold in the food tent as well as a large assortment of pies and cookies made especially for Heritage Days.

Come visit Wartinger Park the week-end after the Popcorn Festival. Take Exit #17 off of I-675 at the Fairfield Road Exit. Drive South to Kemp Rd. Turn left on Kemp to Wartinger Park. Call Sarah at 429-1270 for more information.
