4 Old Fashioned Independence Day Celebration - The Village of Pinehurst invites you to bring your family and friends for a favorite hometown tradition, the annual Fourth of July Parade & Fireworks Celebration. Festivities begin early with a Patriotic Pet Competition at Tufts Park in downtown. Enter your pet (dogs, cats, pigs, ducks- you name it) to compete in categories such as: Best Dressed, Smallest Pet, Most Patriotic, Cutest Adopted/Rescue Pet, or Cutest Children's Toy Pet. On-site registration begins at 8:30am with judging at 9:15am. Prizes will be awarded.At 10:00am, the pomp and circumstance of the parade begins with entries including marching units, civic organizations, beauty queens, scouts and local businesses. Following the parade, make your way over to Tufts Park for face painting, an Antique Cars Display, and summer fruits and vegetables offered by the Sandhills Farmers Market vendors.

2 - 4 Jimmy V Celebrity Golf Classic - The Jimmy V Celebrity Golf Classic, which has raised millions of dollars for cancer research for the past 13 years, comes to Pinehurst Resort. The popular charity tournament, honoring the late North Carolina State basketball coach Jim Valvano, will be played on Course Nos. 2, 4 and 8.
