6 Annual City Wide Garage Sale - Bargain Hunters Rejoice! Each April, Fairbury hosts its annual Citywide Garage Sale, sponsored by Jefferson County 4-H Jr. Leaders. You'll be able to shop 'til you drop, simply pick up a map to take you from house to house. Call for maps and information. On the same day, don't miss the HUGE indoor garage sale located in the '47 Gym, 7th & K Streets (Hwy 15). The school gym is filled to capacity with lots and lots of garage sale bargains so no need to worry about the weather! 13 Hope Crisis 10K/2mi Run - Bring the family and friends to join in this awareness event! 8:00 am Registration at Fairbury Community Building located in City Park. 8:30 am 10K Race and 2 Mile Fun Run/Walk starts. 18 - 19 Rock Creek Trail Days - The first weekend in June gives locals and visitors a chance to travel back in time when
covered wagons and the new railroad were the principle means of transportation along the trails that cut through the Fairbury area in southeast Nebraska.

Rock Creek Station State Historical Park, located 6 miles southeast of Fairbury along the Oregon Trail will play host to many activities including Black Powder demonstrations, Living History demonstrations, Mounted Cowboy Shootout and Buffalo Stew Cookout. 18 - 19 Annual Rails & Trails Days - The first weekend in June gives locals and visitors a chance to travel back in time when covered wagons and the new railroad were the principle means of transportation along the trails that cut through the Fairbury area in southeast Nebraska. Ride on miniature railroad, enjoy exhibits and musical entertainment, flea market and model train displays at the Historic Rock Island Depot.

The Fairbury Rock Island Depot, has been lovingly restored and filled with artifacts recounting the history of the Rock Island Railroad and the local residents who worked out of the Fairbury depot.

1 Run, Walk & Roll Adventure Race - Whether you're an occasional runner, bike rider, fitness buff or serious athlete, the Run, Row, Rock & Roll Adventure Race in Fairbury is one of 10 NSC Races you won't want to miss! Fairbury's race is one of 10 held throughout the year. Teams of 3 will test their skills and endurance in a variety of disciplines. People can participate in teams of three; male, female or co ed. Over 120 participants are expected to run, canoe, bike, climb and navigate their way through the 32 mile recreation course and the 40 mile competitive course with the help of volunteers and several hundred spectators cheering them on. The Fairbury Adventure Race is sponsored by the Burkley Wellness Center and Angry Cow Adventures.

4 - 7 Jefferson County Fair - Enjoy the Carnival Midway, clowns and kid's activities Friday thru Sunday. Plus team roping, horse show and mutton bustin' in the Horse Arena and Youth Livestock Auction.

Thursday evening kicks off with the Pioneer Farm Family Awards and the crowning of Miss Jefferson County.
Friday night is Race Night at the Jefferson County Speedway, featuring 3/4 midget racing action.
Saturday night features Vans BBQ Chicken, plus Mechanical Bull Riding, Horse Arena Events, Open Class Racing and a Hypnotist.
Sunday night don't miss live entertainment in the Grandstand for the entire family.
