Old Stone Church Gospel Concert - The Old Stone Church Gospel Concert will feature the Voices of Praise, The Osawatomie United Methodist Church Choir, Angie and Hannah Wastlund, and Grady Atwater at the Old Stone Church, which was built in 1861 by the Reverend Samuel Adair and his wife Florella, the half sister of John Brown.

16 Kansas Day Celebration - Osawatomie will celebrate Kansas Day with an arts event featuring the Ottawa Art Guild, Osawatomie Area Artists, Osawatomie Schools Art students. In addition, The Band of Oz, the Ekan All Star Jazz Band, and Osawatomie Schools musicians and forensics students will perform at the event.

5 - 9 John Brown Jamboree - Many family friendly activities are planned in the park this year including the annual Carnival, an Arts & Crafts Fair, Car Show, Motorcycle Show, parade, 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament in the air conditioned OHS gym, historical displays, a petting zoo and dog agility demonstration, helicopter rides, a Cutest Baby Contest (open to any baby newborn to 24 months), the Miss Osawatomie Pageant (open to K-12th students attending USD #367 schools), and 2 nights of live Music! 7 - 8 Freedom Festival - The Freedom Festival features a re-enactment of the Battle of Osawatomie, where John Brown and 30 Free State guerilla's fought John Reid and 250 proslavery militia on August 30, 1856, in the largest battle during "Bleeding Kansas." There will also be a reenactment of a battle between Union Troops and Confederate partisans. In addition, the event features Civil War weapons and drill demonstrations, frontier artisans, horse drawn surrey and trolley rides, a medicine show, food vendors a modern arts and crafts/vendor fair, and many other family fun activities.

28 Annual Boneheads Car Show - 1974 and older cars, trucks and bikes. Contestants can sell their old and unwanted car parts. There will be a Burn out and Flame Thrower contest plus other games. And Maybe even a Movie

12 Halloween Spook Parade - Come join in the spook parade. Meet at the city auditorium before we start the parade. After the parade, plan on trick or treating downtown. The first 200 spooks in costume will receive a bag of goodies! 4:00pm.

First Land Office

This land office building was built in 1854 and was used by the first mayor of Osawatomie, H. B. Smith, and his brother who were the first land patent agents in the territory. It was deeded to the city in 1954 by A. W. Youngberg as a memorial to his wife.
