May

25 - 26 Memorial Day: Trans Am & Sunday Royals Car Show - Trans Am cars are big, bad ass and brutal – and really fast at Lime Rock. With Dodge coming on board to Trans Am, the real “Pony Car Wars” are back: Mustang versus Camaro versus Challenger. The Lime Rock Trans Am field is going to be nearly 50 cars, so Trans Am will split the field and give us two big Trans Am races! Plus, you'll see round 2 (Friday) and round 3 (Saturday) of the exciting LRDC Spec Miata Series. The next day is the annual Sunday Royals Car Show, Connecticut’s best “workingman’s” show, the anti-concours concours; great cars of every kind, from hot rods to sports cars and everything in between. If it’s cool, it’s here.

12 - 13 TUDOR United SportsCar Championship - IMSA is back after a one-year hiatus, with the super-quick PC Prototypes and the GT Daytona (GTD) production-based sports cars racing together in this mid-summer spree of speed! The ORECA FLM09 prototypes reach more than 150 mph on Sam Posey Straight – and the GTDs (everything from Aston Martins, Audi R8s and BMW Z4s to Ferraris, 911s and Dodge SRT Vipers) aren’t far behind. PLUS, both classes of the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge – some of the best stock car road racing in the world – are here. You’ll see the big, loud and fast Camaros, Porsches, Mustangs, Aston Martins, BMWs and 370Zs banging fenders in GS, while the ST race has the quick and agile Hondas, VWs, BMW 128/328, Mazda 3/MX-5 and Porsche Boxsters. IMSA has been racing at Lime Rock since the early 1970s, and the tradition continues.

September

22 - 26 Historic Festival 33 & Sunday in the Park Concours - Since 1983, the East Coast's premier vintage racing and concours event has been the Historic Festival weekend at Lime Rock Park, held annually on Labor Day weekend. No other venue in the U.S. has three days of on-track racing sandwiching a prestigious concours event all on the same property. Plus, there's the Thursday kick-off vintage and race car parade through the surrounding towns that ends with a "Welcome Party" on the streets of charming Falls Village.

Of course, the vintage racing on Saturday and Monday is as big and exciting as usual. There will be more than 300 cars and drivers, racing everything from cars built before WWI to the best competition machines from the 1920s to the 1970s.

In between the two race days is the prestigious Sunday in the Park Concours. For 2015, expect up to 250 cars comprising the Lime Rock Concours d'Elegance, lining the entire length of Sam Posey Straight, from the Downhill to Big Bend. The cars are judged by eminent experts, by class, on the basis of design, rarity, provenance and condition. The remaining mile of track is completely filled with some 750 additional collector cars, displayed by enthusiastic owners in groups according to marque and origin. This Gathering of the Marques is a fascinating, eclectic display, where you can get right up close to everything brought by the clubs, from the Citroen Deux Chevaux to the 300SL Gullwing.

So mark your calendar and plan a ride through the countryside to Lime Rock Park over Labor Day weekend. It's a weekend full of tradition, beauty and speed you don't want to miss!
