1 Charlotte New Year's Day 5K - This family-friendly 5K will have you running into the New Year in festive style! Enjoy the scenic new course that begins in the heart of University City and follows along Mallard, Barton and Toby Creek Greenways. The race finishes on the campus of UNC Charlotte with a New Year's Day celebration! 8 - 10 Charlotte Youth Ballet - Cinderella - The Charlotte Youth Ballet brings to the stage its 41st annual Spring Show production. This season CYB will be performing Wizard of Oz with the the choreography of Charlotte legend Gay Porter and Bridget Young.

Enjoy our music for Wizard of Oz. It has newly been recomposed from our original soundtrack composed by Charlotte native Loonis McGlohon. Enjoy our classic story book ballet with all ages of friends and family. Follow Dorothy through her journey to Oz. The Munchkins will will charm you as go Over the Rainbow with delight!

16 St. Patrick's Day Parade - The annual parade will begin at 11am and the Charlotte Goes Green festival will follow. The St. Patrick's Day Parade grows in size each year as more participants become part of an annual tradition. The parade is a community wide combination of traditional bagpipe bands, floats, various organizations and Irish dancers marching with recreation-center drill teams and neighborhood associations.

4 Red, White & Boom - The annual July 4th event will feature a Family Fun Fest with family-friendly activities from 4:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. There will be stadium and grass seating to watch the fireworks show. The event is alcohol-free but there will be food and soft drinks on sale. Clear Channel radio stations will also be establishing various viewing areas throughout Center City.

7 South End Shuffle 5K & 1Mile Run - Join us in the heart of South End for the Annual South End Shuffle 5K & Mile Run, the event that has become a South End neighborhood tradition!
Presented by Skufca Law, Wooden Robot Brewery, and Beacon Partners, the 5K starts on W Summit Ave in front of Wooden Robot Brewery and heads into Charlotte's South End and Wilmore neighborhoods. There is also a 1 Mile Run for those looking for a shorter distance.

Registration includes a finisher medal and beer (21+) from Wooden Robot Brewery or kid's ice cream(under 21). Shirts included for the 5K, and available as an upgrade for the 1 Mile.
