Carl Sandburg State Historic Site

Galesburg is the birth place and burial site of the internationally known writer, Carl Sandburg. The Visitor Center contains a museum, a museum shop, a small theater where several informative videos about Carl Sandburg are shown and a renovated "barn"

The Orpheum Theatre

The restored vaudeville Orpheum Theatre, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, is a monument to the spirit of Galesburg and Knox County - a love of history, the arts and community. Described as "a veritable house of enchantment" when it opened its doors on August 19, 1916
