Airport History
Air Capital Terminal 1, the Wichita Municipal Airport, which is now the Kansas Aviation Museum operated from 1935 - 1954.
Air Capital Terminal 2, the Wichita Municipal Airport was renamed Wichita Mid-Continent Airport in 1973 and operated from April 1954 - May 2015. In 1961 commercial jet travel came to Mid-Continent.
On November 11, 2014, the airport was renamed Wichita Dwight D. Eisenhower National Airport.
Air Capital Terminal 3, the Wichita Eisenhower National Airport, opened its new terminal June 3, 2015. The City of Wichita and its Airport Authority began developing this third terminal for Wichita in the early 2000s.
