Rikard Mill Historical Park Annual Reopening
- The annual reopening of Rikard's Mill features the gristmill turning out meal and grits again as it has done since Jake Rikard first established a gristmill on Flat Creek in 1845. See blacksmithing; enjoy arts and crafts; story telling; and listen to Blue grass, southern gospel, and country music all day long. Ghosts at Rikard’s Mill
- Enjoy costumed storytellers as they entertain with scary tales at the Covered Bridge, Millhouse, Pioneer Cabin, Carriage House and Barn at Rikard's Mill. Those brave enough to enter the Haunted Swamp Trail can visit the Villain's Cemetery, encounter ghosts, ghoulies, werewolves, zombies and other creatures of the dark as you walk the spooky path. Children under 12 allowed on the Trail only if accompanied by an adult. 6:30 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. Trail opens at 7:00. Food vendors will be available. Cane Syrup Makin’ Day at Rikard’s Mill Historical Park
- A 19th Century restored mule-driven cane mill and furnace will again be making cane syrup as in olden days at Rikard's Mill on Saturday. The syrup-making process will begin at 9 a.m., and mules will be grinding the sugar cane. Rikard's Mill, an 1845 operating grist mill, at one time included a cane syrup mill.
