16 - 15 Summer Swing Concerts in the Park - Every Tuesday, the Opelika Parks and Recreation Department will host a free outdoor concert at 7 pm. This 14-week concert series offers a wide variety of musical entertainment including Gospel, Jazz, R & B, Oldies, Country, Big Band Swing, Folk and community bands. The Opelika Band Boosters will prepare Summer Sing Sack Suppers of hamburgers, hot dogs and grilled chicken sandwihces, in the park from 6:15 pm - 7:30 pm. Bring the whole family, a quilt or lawn chair and relax for an evening of musical entertainment!

Curtis Ingram has been an inspiration and a blessing to gospel music fans as one of the lead singers for the Gospel Messengers of Columbus, GA for approximately 30 years. We would like to take this opportunity to show our love and appreciation for his contributions. 13 - 17 Victorian Front Porch Tour - The streets of the North Opelika Historic Neighborhood are transformed into a Victorian Christmas fairyland with Old World Christmas figures adorning the porches of more than 50 turn-of-the century homes. People travel from far and near to see the life-size Santas, children, angels, toys, teddy bears, carousel horses and other figures designed by local artist Jan Jones. Now in its 12th year, more than 10,000 visitors annually travel to see this one-of-a-kind spectacle. The streets are open to cars on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday. On Saturday evening, weather permitting, streets are closed for walkers. Carolers, neighbors in Victorian costumes and guests are invited to stroll the streets and experience live entertainment as well as the festive spirit. The tour begins at North 8th Street on 2nd Avenue and passes beautiful historic homes.

16 Christmas in a Railroad Town - Norman Rockwell is alive and well in Historic Downtown Opelika. Enjoy a leisurely evening with family and friends visiting our shops and museum while the young at heart have that special conversation with Santa and Mrs. Claus. Miniature train rides and sounds of Christmas fill the air. Wagon rides and trolleys are available to transport you to the Victorian Front Porch Christmas Tour.
