Jesup Lions Club Car Cruise
- Be there when it all starts at 2:00 pm! Play Tire Toss and enjoy food, raffles, and trivia contest. Lots of "best of" trophies. Then at 4 p.m. begins the Auto Destruction. First we blow it up, then we beat it up! Join or just watch the cruise at 5 p.m. At 5:45 p.m., bring your own 4-8 year old car for the Power Wheels Race. Prizes awarded. 6:15 p.m. there's a Stunt Bike Show and at 6:45 p.m. is the Burnout Competition with prizes awarded. Should be all over around 7:30 p.m.Address: City Park , Jesup, Iowa |

Jesup Farmers Day
- Chamber of Commerce Free Porkburgers & Chips, and Beer Garden Area and A Variety of Food Booths and Games, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, plus contests, carnival rides, music, artists, stage shows, pet shows, magic shows, quilt show, tractor pull, parades. Farmers Day is going "Under the Sea" in 2017 with the Haai Shark Encounter! A 5,000-gallon aquarium will arrive on a semi-truck and in addition to the come-and-go exhibit, a diver will be presenting ten shows: two on Thursday, four on Friday, and four on Saturday. The diver will be able to communicate with the audience using an underwater mask to tell us what is happening in the aquarium. He will be available after the performance to answer questions, and will also give an interesting and educational program before he enters the tank. Area runners are encouraged to register for the Farmers Day 5K Run/Walk to be held on Saturday. The route will be flat and will take runners through the streets of Jesup. An aid station with water will be provided at the start, 1.5 mile mark and the finish. Other refreshments will also be available at the finish.The race will be split into the following age divisions for women and men: 12 and under; 13-15; 16-19; 20-24; 25-29; 30-34; 35-39; 40-44; 45-49; 50-54, 55-59; 60-64; and 65 and over. Medals will be awarded to the 1st place overall 5K male runner; 1st place overall 5K female runner and 1st place overall 5K walker in addition to the top three winners in each age group.
