Upcoming Events in Yorkville Illinois

June

24 - 25 Bluegrass Music Festival - Northern Illinois Bluegrass Association (NIBA) - Bluegrass Festival begins at noon Saturday, with jamming, camping and camaraderie at the Lyon Farm in Yorkville. Along with the professional bands another component of the Bluegrass Festival are the jam sessions. You'll find those Friday evening and outside on Saturday as well. You're welcome to bring your instruments and join in.

The Saturday entertainment is an indoor event so even if there's inclement weather you'll will be inside a very nice building at Lyon Farm. Noon-6 p.m.

Camping is available Friday and Saturday nights for $15 a night. Camping definitely lends to the overall festival experience. It's a primitive campground but a lot of people bring their trailers. We sit around the campfire and sing songs and the coyotes answer.

Kids are welcome at the festival. the NIBA is a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation of bluegrass music with scholarship programs for college for students who may be interested in bluegrass and help the organization grow.
