4 Fourth of July Celebration - Every year, the Chamber with financial help from other sponsors, provide the community with a fireworks extravaganza. The fireworks are shot from an area on the east side of Scott City and are of such high quality they can be seen from miles away. Scott City native, Ryan Powers is often the “shooter” for this event and he and his “crew” make certain Scott City residents are never disappointed!

13 - 20 Scott County Free Fair - The Scott County Fair has become a tradition of the best popular entertainment found in communities this size. Youth activities, livestock, and exhibits highlight the fair, which truly is a community effort. Many evening shows are preceded by the day long activities in the show areas. The community has a parade to kick off the activities. Ferris wheels, rodeo, tractor pulling, chasing a greased pig are some of the unique experiences at the free fair.

28KS1018019e008 - Scott City Whimmydiddle Arts & Crafts Fair - The Whimmydiddle Arts and Crafts Fair comes to Scott City Park on the last Saturday in September. The Fair is named after a wooden toy, the whimmydiddle. One of the largest craft shows in Western Kansas, this event features over 200 exhibitors from across the United States who arrive with original art, metal working, pottery and crafts in wood, fabric, jewelry, silk & dried flowers. The Whimmydiddle also offers a variety of tempting food concessions to entice visitors to indulge themselves.

1 Jerry Thomas Gallery & Collection Holiday Open House - The Christmas Open House and ever-popular Sugar Plum Sale is scheduled for Sunday from 1:30 – 3:30, with a drawing for raffle prizes at 3:30. Among the raffle prizes will be one of Tava See’s famous German chocolate cakes, a gift plate of Marvel Hopkins Keyse’s marvelous fudge and Patsi Graham’s practically perfect peanut brittle! There will be at least one more item for your choice.

We will be selling holiday cookies and candies by the pound and will serve refreshments. It’s a fun afternoon – don’t miss it!
