20 Sheep Shearing at Missouri Town 1855 - Our Missouri ancestors depended on flocks of sheep not only for food but also for their valuable wool. The entire process of using wool including shearing, washing, carding, spinning, dyeing and weaving are presented in this annual event. The antebellum architecture and unique charm of Missouri Town 1855 creates the perfect setting as skilled artisans demonstrate these time-honored tasks and share their knowledge with our guests. 18 1855 Missouri Town Childrens' Day - Gunnysack and three-legged races, pie eating contests, spelling bees and more. 9:00 AM - 4:30 PM.

5 - 7 KID'S KRAZE - Kid's Kraze is a 3-day summer event where your children will play hard, sing and dance their hearts out, and learn exciting stories from the Bible. This event is open to all kids 5 - 12 years of age, or who are still 4, but will be attending Kindergarten in the fall.
Day 1 is SPORTS KRAZE - Your child can pick 1 sport to focus on for a mini sports clinic. They can choose from basketball, soccer, karate and Zumba.
Day 2 is ANIMAL KRAZE - Your child will get to pet and interact with several animals from Savannah Land, the KC Zoo and even a llama farm.
Day 3 is CARNIVAL KRAZE - We will have inflatable bounce houses, obstacle courses, slides, play water games, face painting, and more. (Make sure to dress to get wet!!!)
The cost is $10 per child

19 - 29 Harvest Days at Powell Gardens - During Harvest Days, Powell Gardens gives a nod to its agricultural roots with this festival of old-fashioned family fun. Grab a hot apple cider and take a stroll through autumnal displays and shop Powell Gardens' artisan market. Join other festivalgoers in harvesting fresh produce from the edible landscape of the Heartland Harvest Garden. Listen to live music while playing larger-than-life lawn games. After a hayride, cozy up to a fire pit with a glass of wine, smores kit, and better conversation. Wander the quilt gardens, sample bites of the fall harvest, and enjoy the fall foliage as you settle in for shorter days and cooler weather.

A family oriented evening where ghost stories, spooky images and a special ghoulish hay wagon ride will thrill and chill everyone. 1 - 2 Fall Harvest Art & Craft Festival - Over 90 vendors will be presenting their hand-made arts and crafts to enhance your holiday spirit at "The Pavillion at John Knox Village" in Lee's Summit MO. Just a few of the items available will be Pottery, original art, wood crafts, quilts, scrapbooks, embroidery, crochet, floral arrangements, acrylic painting, ceramics, holiday decorations, jewelry, Wildlife Photography and much more. In order to help the community during the holidays, we are going to partner with the Hope House in Lee's Summit and Independence. We will be accepting donations for the Hope House to support victims of domestic violence. There are hundreds of women and children that struggle to put their lives back together and need the shelter and support the Hope House provides.
