27 Women's Expo - Women's Expo is a fun girlie day/fundraiser for the Youth & Community Center. This event features vendors with jewelry, arts and crafts, hair, flowers, make up, candles and almost anything else a woman would be interested in. 11 Carter County Spring Festival - We welcome all visitors, and encourage you and your family to come join us for a great time. With a wide variety of craft vendors, demonstrations at the log cabin, food, live music, cloggers, games for the kids, you will be glad that you came. After a visit to the craft fair, take a float trip along the beautiful Current River! From all of us at the Missouri Extension office, we hope to see you there!! 31 -Sucker Daze- Arts & Crafts Festival and -Miss Yellow Sucker- Pageant - This event is sponsored by the Van Buren Area Chamber of Commerce. The theme for this year's event is based around the opening of gigging season, specifically gigging the Hog Sucker fish and the Yellow Sucker fish, a long time sport and tradition on Current River. There will be a wide variety of handcrafted arts and crafts, demonstrations at the historic log cabin, music, games for the kids, lots of good food, as well as, exhibits of vintage wooden john boats with lanterns for gigging, vintage gigs, etc. The festival will be from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with the "Miss Yellow Sucker" Pageant at 1:00 p.m. Come and spend the week-end.
