The cemetery serves as the final resting place for 52 Confederate soldiers from the states of VA, NC, SC & GA. All soldiers buried in the cemetery died at the nearby Kittrell Springs Hotel which was converted into a military hospital during the Civil War. Saint James Episcopal Church (c. 1860)
