Stewart Father's Day Pow Wow
- This annual powwow draws a number of quality American Indian artisans, and is also a time for alumni, former employees and their families and friends to gather at the former campus. Additionally, this fundraising event is part of an effort to establish the Stewart Indian Cultural Center to preserve the history and memorabilia of the former school. There will be competition dancing, American Indian jewelry, arts and craft vendors, Native food, drum groups, raffle and an alumni reception. It is the Committee's hope that this event will give the community a sample of American Indian heritage, history and pride. Grand entry times are 7 p.m. Friday, 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday and 12 p.m. Sunday. All are invited and welcome to attend this free event. Pony Express Re-ride
- Each June, members of the National Pony Express Association recreate the Pony Express in a Commemorative Re-Ride over a 10 days period. Letters are carried in a mochila over the original trail. The 1,966 mile, eight state event is conducted 24 hours a day until the mail is delivered to its destination. This national event is an opportunity for all young and old to ride the Pony Trail and to receive mail via the Pony Express! The Pony Express Re-ride will be coming through Carson City approximately 5:30a.m. PDT at 3rd Street & Carson Street. |

Basque Festival
- Early fall in Carson City wouldn't be complete without St. Teresa of Avila's famous Basque Festival. To honor the rich traditions of Northern Nevada's Basque heritage, this daylong event is held the third Sunday of September, and has grown into a community-wide celebration. An estimated 2,000 people attend the Basque Festival, enjoying the authenticity of fantastic food, events, and entertainment. Quite simply there isn't a better way to spend an autumn Sunday. Kit Carson Trail - Ghost Walk
- Mark your calendar for the special ALL day October Ghost Walk from 10 AM - 2PM. Unlike the night tours, this will be held during the day, and for one day only, some of the homeowners and attractions on the tour open their doors for a peak inside the beautiful and haunted homes. These 90 minute scheduled tours leave rain or shine. Please arrive at least 10 minutes before the walk begins. Dress for the weather and for the walk. RSVP Nevada Days Celebration and Parade
- Major carnival in Mills Park, arts, crafts, novelties, great food and drink. Opens 4pm Thursday and Friday, noon on Saturday and Sunday. Saturday - NEVADA DAY PARADE Join Carson City in celebrating Nevada's birthday. The largest parade in the state takes place on Carson Street beginning at 10am sharp. Silver & Snowflake Festival of Lights
- This magical holiday festival begins on the Capitol grounds at 5:30. The State trees will be lit. The 300 voices of the Carson City 5th Grade Music Students Singing Ensemble and the Carson Middle School Advanced Handbell Choir will contribute the music. A warm feeling envelops the Capitol as families gather to hear children sing and to watch the tree and all of Carson City spring into light.
