Big Mama's Show and Shine
- Douglas County Senior Center's BIG MAMA'S Show & Shine is our annual fundraiser for Meals on Wheels. We have classic cars, a vendor and crafter fair, raffle prizes, music and fun for everyone. Held at the beautiful Lampe Park Pavilion in Gardnerville from 10am to 3 pm, you can cruise the classic cars, enjoy a lunch, chat with friends and do it all while supporting nutrition for Homebound Seniors within Douglas County. Registration for your classic car or truck, vendor booth reservations and sponsorship packets are available by calling Amanda at 775-783-6455 or by email to areid@co.douglas.nv.us - Find BIG MAMA'S on the website below. Early Vehicle Registration is $45.00. Late Vehicle Registration (received after May 1st or later) is $55.00. Late Registration will be accepted the day of the show but the gates close at 10am. - Early Day Gas Engine & Tractor Association Southwest Regional Show. This is the Annual Antique Power Show being put on by Northern Nevada Antique Power Club, EDGE&TA Branch 132. Carson Valley Days
- Activities and attractions will include free live music at Lampe Park on Friday night and Saturday, the famous Parade that will run from downtown Minden to Gardnerville on Saturday morning at 9 am, and a raffle drawing at 3 pm at Lampe Park on Sunday. Held the second week of June. There'll also be carnival rides for all ages, craft fair vendors, food vendors, face painting, children’s games, a Horse Shoe Tournament, a Basketball Tournament, and a Corn Hole Tournament at Lampe Park throughout the event! Nevada Agricultural Fair
- The Nevada Agricultural Fair is focused on keeping the science of farming, homesteading and the practice of producing livestock, alive in our community of western Nevada. The Nevada Agricultural Fair was previously known in 2021 as the Silver & Sage Fair at the Douglas County Fairgrounds. We feature the MAYHEMilition Demolition Derby, youth livestock show and sale (steers, goats, pigs, sheep and poultry), food and merchandise vendors, indoor exhibits (Canning, breads, vegetables, art and educational displays). - The car show is in it's 9th year and is sponsored by Northern Nevada Inliners held in Gardnerville Nevada. The profits from the show go directly to support Scouts in the local community and help to Scouts to afford camping trips locally and nationally. Douglas County Rodeo
- Throw on your boots for this wild weekend in September! Held at the Douglas County Fairgrounds, this event is the perfect combination of all the small-town feels and the big-time rodeo events! Featuring bull and bronc riding, barrel racing, team roping, trick riders, the cutest little mutton busters you ever saw and of course, the ever-entertaining rodeo clown. Before the chutes open, food trucks, vendors and kids' activities make for a great day. After the evening events, dance the night away with a live concert from featured bands.
