13 Custer Monument - Ohio Historical Society - A bronze statue stands on the site of George Armstrong Custer's birthplace. Custer, born in 1839, became famous as a daring cavalryman during the Civil War as well as his more famous Indian battles. Only the foundation of his home remains at the roadside park and picnic area. Visitors at the exhibit pavilion may read about Custer's life and the spirited qualilites of the young soldier whose Last Stand has made his name a household word.



The site is open year around during daylight hours.

16 - 18 Bluegrass In The Hills - Old Time Pickin' and Grinnin' Bluegrass Festival at Mickey's Mountain site in Hopedale. Located between Steubenville and Cadiz, off the Hopedale exit from U.S. Rt. 22. Follow the signs, 3 miles north on County Rd 4 to County Rd 46; go left 1/2 mile to Twp Rd 170/Ford Rd and turn right; dead ends at parking lot.
