20 International Migratory Bird Day - Come out to Magee Marsh Wildlife Area and enjoy wagon rides, songbird banding,and see live birds of prey. There will be lots of bird watching opportunities. 20 - 21 Grand Opening - Visit the new Ottawa Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center located at 14000 W. St.Rt. 2 just 15 miles east of Toledo, and 16 miles west of Port Clinton. There will be a morning bird walk at 9 am. You can see Ohio's Winning Jr. Duck Stamp entries. Visit with Don and Lilliam Stokes "America's First Family of Birding" at 1:30 pm on Saturday. There will be displays and other activities including an auto tour on Saturday from 8 am- 5 pm and Sunday from 9 am- 4 pm.

18 An Evening with Jon Dunn - The event will start with a chicken dinner. After dinner Mr. Dunn will speak on shorebird identification, with a book signing to follow. Mr. Dunn has extensive knowledge of the identification and distribution of North American birds and has written numerous papers on these subjects that have appeared in a wide variety of journals.

24 Auto Tour at Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge - The refuge offers an auto tour, weather permitting. Travel seven miles through normally closed areas of the refuge. Begin at the visitor parking lot where you pick up the auto tour guide. Travel the route at your own pace. The gate is open from 9 am-4pm. The exit gate closes at 5:30 pm. The refuge office and bookstore are open, so feel free to stop in and ask about any recent bird sightings.

7 - 8 Waterfowler Festival - This event features beautiful waterfowl decoys crafted by wonderfully talented carvers. There will also be retreiver trials, duck and goose calling, decoy contests, trap shooting and hayrides around Magee Marsh and the Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge.
