Rock and Roll Night School - The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum's Education Department presents Rock and Roll Night School. Rock and Roll Night School is a monthly series of educational, discussion-based night classes offered free of charge from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. on the 4th Wednesday of each month. Jason Hanley, musicologist and Education Programs Manager at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum, will lead classes, which are geared towards adults interested in gaining more knowledge about rock and roll History. The program will explore the history of rock and roll, from its roots to its current incarnations.

Special attention will be given to the music's impact on society, its reception by fans, and its most innovative practitioners. Each class will include a presentation, music and video clips, and group discussions.

28 - 29 Annual Goldmine National Record Show - The National Record Show provides dealers and collectors with an opportunity to display, appraise, buy and sell rock and roll memorabilia from all eras. Nearly 60 booths filled with prime collectible 78s, vinyl records, CDs, and music memorabilia will be set up by some of the leading dealers in the country. 30 Cleveland POPS Orchestra Annual -New Year's Eve at the Copa - Move over Times Square, the glittering, festive and entertaining Cleveland POPS New Year's Eve party is widely acknowledged to be the best on the planet -- or at least in Northeast Ohio.  This year, Cleveland POPS takes you to the Copacabana (a.k.a. Severance Hall) where you will be treated to a two-hour show of best hits, followed by dancing until 1:00 a.m. Two bands will accompany the social dancing. Cash bars throughout Severance Hall will provide the holiday libations Celebrants will be treated to free desserts and coffee as they view the amazing balloon drop at midnight. Party goers can end the evening by driving home or they can take advantage of exclusive Cleveland POPS rates for deluxe overnight accomodations at the nearby posh InterContinental Hotel. WHAT A GREAT WAY TO GREET THE NEW YEAR!

12 - 19 Kuumba Cultural Arts Festival - Kuumba (koo-OOM-bah) means creativity. Kuumba is the sixth of the seven principles of Kwanzaa, which is a unique African American celebration with focus on the traditional African values of family, community responsibility, commerce, and self-improvement. Kwanzaa is neither political nor religious, and is not a substitute for Christmas. It is celebrated from December 26th to January 1st . Performances in theater arts, contemporary dance or ballet is usually the entertainment for the Kuumba festival.
