Kent Heritage Festival
- The City of Kent will again celebrate our City's and Nation's heritage at the Kent Heritage Festival. This annual, all day celebration features the Jeff Graham Memorial Fireworks, Kent Historic Train Rides (sponsored by the Kent Chamber), Ducks over the Falls, Live music and entertainment all day on three stages, 5K & 10 Race & one mile fun run, Children's Play area, well over 100 food and craft booths, and many more local displays. The Kent Heritage Festival is planned and operated by Kent's United Services Organization (a partnership of nine Kent service organizations). The festival is a one-day event, from 9:00 a.m. until midnight. For more information, applications (race/car/duck), please call the Kent Area Chamber of Commerce at 330-673-9855. - SHOCKtober arrives at the Family Video in Kent, Ohio on Saturday October 13th from 11a-7p. This event is presented to you by Family Video and World Paranormal Investigaitons. Come meet Jeremy Ambler from AMC's The Walking Dead, The Crazies, The Three Stooges, American Reunion, and many more. Also on hand will be NE Ohio's Alice Cooper tribute band The Nightmare's own Michael Heggedus. Jason Voorhees impersonator Robert Balcer. Author Gary Moon will be on hand signing copies of his book The Legend Of The Zombie Apocalypse. Members from the award winner for the best short horror film for 2012 THE FARM which was based and filmed right here in Ohio! The best part of this event is that it's FREE!!! There is a SET FEE for autographs that is put into place by the celebrities. If you attend you can have a chance to win a pair of tickets to The Nightmare's Traveling Nightmare show that will take place Oct.26th at The Akron Civic Theatre!!! Hope to see everyone there! Annual Festival of Lights
- Once again Santa Claus will be arriving in downtown Kent via train to lead the countdown along with Mayor Fiala to light the tree in Hometown Bank Plaza, and meet and greet all of the little children who come ready with their letters and wish lists. If you haven’t experienced the Festival of Lights before now, bring the family and plan to be amazed at the transformation of downtown Kent into a Winter Wonderland!
