Summer Schedule for Train Rides - Northwest Ohio Railroads summer train ride schedule is May 29 thru September 5 every Saturday and Sunday. Saturday hours are 5:00 to 8:00 pm Sunday hours are 1:00 to 4:00 pm. Come ride on a 1/4 scale steam train or our diesel train then visit our gift shop and see the model train layouts in our museum.

24 Maple Sugarin' Day - Step out on the trails and back in time for a late winter living history and nature walk that features maple trees, sap science, and sap collection by Native Americans and pioneers. Guided walks depart every 15 minutes from the gatehouse between 12pm and 2pm. The historic McKinnis House, workshop and wagon shed (where you'll find maple products for sale) will also be open from 12-3pm.

24 Flag City Train Show - We start our season of train rides with our annual Flag City Train Show, featuring model trains, toy trains, and railroad memorabilia for sale by various dealers. The whole family can enjoy a quarter-scale train ride for only $1.00 per passenger during show hours. Also see HO and Lionel trains running as well as static displays of 7-1/2" gauge engines and a full-scale motor car.  Antique Erector sets will also be on display.  Food service available. 10:00am - 4:00pm.

27 Car Tunes on Main - The Flag City Corvette Club and United Way of Hancock County present "Car Tunes on Main". The event will feature a car cruise-in, Battle of the Bands, food vendors, specialty cars on display, car awards, and inflatable activities for kids of all ages. The evening will be capped off with a concert by the Danger Brothers beginning at 7:00pm. The car parade will be open to all cars from 1985 and older, as well as two-seater sports cars from any year.

24 - 25 Tracks To The Past - See old time exhibits and take a little steam train ride at our annual TRACKS TO THE PAST show. Stroll around for a close up of old tractors and gas engines. Watch a blacksmith pounding out nails on his anvil. See logs cut into planks by a sawmill powered by a steam traction engine. Pet an alpaca or learn about birds of prey. Take a tour of a 1920s era B&O caboose to see where conductors and brakemen once worked, slept, and ate back in the old days when every train had a caboose at the end of its length of cars. Little ones can enjoy the simple pleasure of playing in a big sand pile. Come out and enjoy an old-fashioned weekend! From 8:00-10:00am each day there will be a delicious all-you-can-eat pancake and sausage breakfast for $5 ($3 for young children). If that's too early, then enjoy a hotdog or hamburger during show hours. Beverages and snacks are also available.

31 - 1 Hancock Horizontal Hundred - Join us for one of the flattest rides in Ohio.  Great ride for your first 100 mile "Century" attempt.  Bicycle dealer/vendor displays and a free ice cream social Saturday evening.  "Chris Cakes" serving hot cakes breakfast Sunday morning.  Ride fee includes: patch (first 1000 registrants), map, rest stops with food, lunch, SAG support and a well marked route on smooth blacktop roads.  All corners are swept prior to day of event.  Online registration is available.

6 - 7 Hancock Heritage Days - The annual Hancock Heritage Days Festival will again focus on the Civil War era. Activities for the weekend include an encampment of Civil War re-enactors who will be doing such living history as drills, skirmishes, church service, court-martial and an officer's funeral. Other living history re-enactments include Abraham Lincoln, Johnny Appleseed and his brother Nathaniel, and the Underground Railroad. Vintage baseball games will be played all Saturday afternoon and a 2 pm Sunday game with a local "celebrity" team. A Kids' Korner for hands-on activities, artisans' demonstrations, period music, antiques appraisals and food vendors will also be part of the scheduled activities. Join us for a weekend of living history!

Passengers take a night quarter-scale steam train ride past the woods. Then, for those that survive, there is a walk through the creepy, dark, haunted engine house building.
