- CRUISE IN AT THE CONVO at Ohio University’s Convocation Center in beautiful Athens, Ohio hosted by the Ohio Alumni Varsity Band. The event and registration starts at 9:00am until 12:00pm with awards at 1:10. The event will run until 2:00pm. Registration is $10. Register on-line. Quilt National '17
- Odd Years. Even years display the previous year's exhibits. The Dairy Barn Cultural Art Center is proud to present Quilt National, with more than 80 quilts in a tribute to textile art. Ohio Brew Week
- Ohio Brew Week celebrates Ohio's diverse micro-brews during the week-long festival. Enjoy tasting craft beers, cooking with beer demonstrations, learning the unusual history of beer and taverns while relaxing in comfortable Athens. Hosted by the Athens Independent Restaurant Association, Ohio Brew Week will feature craft beers from 15 micro-breweries around the state. The week-long event includes seminars on the history of beer, the history of taverns, home brewing demonstrations, beer-related videos, movies, cooking with beer demonstrations, pool tournaments, local musicians and beer song contests. Boogie on the Bricks
- The "Boogie on the Bricks" Summer Music Festival is an idea whipped up by local Athens, Ohio merchants and citizens as a fun event to be held in the heart of the city, home of Ohio University. Parking will be available free of charge in the Athens Parking Garage all day. Food will be served throughout the event beginning at 12:00 pm. Purveyors from your Athens Independent Restaurants will be serving up delectable treats at the food tent. The beer garden and dining area will be open throughout the festival featuring a selection of beer, soft drinks from Pepsi and bottled water. The stage will be visible from the beer garden tables. Beer will be sold until 9:30pm. Other activities: Children's play area expected to include an inflatable bouncy-house, climbing wall, water balloon toss, face painting and more. Open from 2:00 pm until about 7:00 pm. Come view and buy local artwork from Athens county's very own artists. Information will also be available from many of our important community organizations. Wheels on Fire Skateboard Jam
- Annual Wheels on Fire Skateboard Contest. There will be classes for beginner, intermediate, advanced and expert. There will also be a women's division! Trophies will be awarded in all divisions and cash prizes will be awarded in the expert division. Proceeds from this event will be used to help pay off construction costs of the park and help offset maintenance and improvement costs. We'll also have music, product raffles and other fun stuff.
