Troy Festival of Nations
- The Troy Festival of Nations shares with the citizens of Troy and the surrounding area the heritage and customs of the nationalities represented within our area. The festival is non-profit and funded by donations. The festival opens with the "Parade of Nations" and each participating country carries their flag to the stage on Troy's Public Square. Enjoy the variety of food our local ethnic restaurants offer in our food court. Visit the individual delegations' booths to take an educational and culinary tour of each participating country. Our children's area features ethnic crafts and activities for our younger visitors. Dancing, story-telling, and music are featured. You will find this wonderful event is handicap accessible. Troy Hometown Holidays Tree Illumination
- Bring your family and friends to downtown Troy for the Grand Illumination. This is an event not be missed as Downtown Troy officially ushers in the Holiday season. The evening begins at 6 pm with a Christmas parade through the streets of Downtown Troy. Santa arrives at the end of the parade route greeting children and adults with a HO HO HO & a Merry Christmas! At 7 pm, gather around Prouty Plaza for the annual reading of "Twas the Night Before Christmas" by Mayor Michael Beamish. Shortly following, join in the oohhh's and aaah's as the tree at the center od Downtown Troy shines brightly for all to see. Carriage rides, holiday music, scenes from Dicken's "A Christmas Carol", and a visit from Santa fill the evening.
