Idabel
Idabel, Oklahoma is fast becoming known as the “Dogwood Capital of Oklahoma” and the “City of Murals.” Drive downtown Idabel and see four giant murals painted by Idabel’s local artist. Visitors can tour the newly expanded Museum of the Red River and historic homes. A driving tour is available for admiring nine state champion trees as well as dogwood trails in the spring.
Surrounded by scenic beauty, excellent hunting, fishing, camping, hiking, water recreaction, and golf, Idabel also offers antiques, bowling, roller skating, movies, bingo, and off-track horse racing at the Choctaw Gaming Center.
Barnes-Stevenson Home
The Barnes-Stevenson home is a restored Victorian home with period furnishings. Home to the Historical Society, it is open for tours by appointment.
