25 - 27 Memorial Day Weekend Open House - Guest artists and crafts people show their work in the Indian Museum and Cultural Center. Free admission to residents of South Dakota, North Dakota, Montana, Wyoming and the Nebraska panhandle. Suggested two cans of food per person for the KOTA Care and Share Food Drive are gratefully accepted in lieu of admission.

11 Dedication Anniversaries - The anniversary of the June 3, 1948, dedication of the Memorial and the first blast on the mountain; the anniversary of the completion and unveiling of the face of Crazy Horse in 1998 and of the first blast of the second 50 years of progress on the mountain.

11 - 12 Crazy Horse Volksmarch - Annual 10K volksmarch held at Crazy Horse Memorial. This walk is the only chance to see the carving of the work-in-progress, up close.

3 Battle of Little Bighorn Anniversary and Ruth Ziolkowski`s Birthday - A birthday celebration for the wife of sculptor Korczak Ziolkowski, the man who started the Crazy Horse mountain carving, and recognition of the anniversary of the Battle of the Little Bighorn. (2005 marks Ruth's 79th birthday and the 129th anniversary.) Traditionally, it includes a night blast on the mountain. Free admission to the Memorial after 7 p.m. (suggest two cans of food per person for the KOTA Care and Share Food Drive). Before 7 p.m.

14 Dual Anniversaries Night Blast - Observation of the anniversaries of the 1877 death of Crazy Horse and the 1908 birth of sculptor Korczak Ziolkowski. Features a night blast (weather permitting) on Crazy Horse Memorial. Free admission to the Memorial after 6 p.m. (suggest two cans of food per person for the KOTA Care and Share Food Drive). Before 6 p.m.
