Movies in the Park
- Kyle Parks and Recreation Department is proud to present the 20th year of Movies in the Park! This year's event will be held at the basketball court at Gregg-Clarke Park, 1301 W Center St. This event is free to attend, no registration needed. Just show up, and make sure you bring the whole family! The movie will begin at sundown! Grab a blanket and a friend for another great season of the Movies in the Park shown on the big screen. 2022 Kyle Polar Bear Splash
- Take part in a Kyle tradition and make a splash into the New Year on Jan. 1 at the 2022 Polar Bear Splash at James Adkins Pool starting at 10 a.m. To participate in the Polar Bear Splash, register through Team Sideline. Regular registration costs $20 per person and will close on Dec. 31, 2021. On-site registrations and late registrations will be accepted for the price of $25 per person. Register by Friday, Dec. 9 to get polar bear apparel. Spectators may enter for free. Center St, on Saturday, Jan. 1 at 9 a.m. If you participate in the 5K run and the Polar Bear Splash, you will receive a special commemorative item in addition to the 5K and Polar Bear Splash swag! Registration for the Love of Go Resolution Run closes on Tuesday, Dec. 28. Participants must register by Thursday, Dec. 16 to guarantee a Resolution Run shirt. PIErate Treasure Hunt
- The City of Kyle invites you to participate in the PIErate Treasure Hunt from March 1 - 20 for the chance to win $314 in celebration of National Pi Day in the Pie Capital of Texas. To participate in the PIErate Treasure Hunt, you must find one of eight numbered treasure chests hidden throughout the city — locations include Gregg-Clarke Park, city trails, Mary Kyle Hartson City Square Park, Waterleaf Park, Cool Springs Trail and Steeplechase Park. Once a treasure box is located, participants can open it and follow the instructions inside to be entered into a raffle to win $314. All treasure hunters are asked to leave the chests for others to find. Only one entry per person is allowed. No city employees can win the prize. Annual Great Texas River Cleanup
- The City of Kyle is calling for volunteers to register for the 37th Annual Great Texas River Cleanup happening from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, March 5. The City of Kyle has 100 volunteer spots available along the trails at Waterleaf Park, 628 Abundance Lane. Volunteers will meet at Waterleaf Park at 8:30 a.m. for breakfast tacos and will be provided gloves, bags and a commemorative T-shirt. Volunteers should dress accordingly and wear close-toed shoes and bring a refillable water bottle. Pizza will be provided to all volunteers at 11:30 a.m. at Waterleaf Park. During the cleanup, volunteers are asked to place filled trash bags as close to the trails as possible, so that Parks and Recreation Department Staff can easily and safely collect it. The City of Kyle is encouraging volunteers who are not fully vaccinated against COVID-19 to continue wearing a face covering over the nose and mouth when at City-owned outdoor public spaces and it is not feasible to maintain six feet of distance from someone outside of their household. Kyle Independence Day Fireworks Show
- Join the City of Kyle in celebrating the Fourth of July with the Independence Day Celebration Fireworks Show. The fireworks show will last 30 minutes and will have several unique displays this year. The City of Kyle has also arranged a special treat in partnership with radio station KAZI 88.7 to stream music as you watch the show. The fireworks will be launched from Plum Creek Golf Course (PCGC) at sundown, approximately 9 p.m. Parking: No viewing will be allowed on the Plum Creek Golf Course property. Yes, adults are allowed without children, but keep in mind this is a family friendly event. Are pets allowed? Pets will not be allowed in the Ash Pavilion. 2021 State of the City Address, Kyle, TX

Kyle Pie in the Sky Hot Air Balloon Festival
- Join us Labor Day Weekend for the premier hot air balloon festival and pie eating contest, in Kyle, Texas! Beautiful hot air balloons will illuminate the sky on Friday and Saturday evenings and will float over the Kyle sky Saturday and Sunday mornings. Pie festivities will include a Pie Café tent, pie baking contest, pie eating contests, pie vendors (sweet and savory), and more, all of which will solidify our claim to fame as the Pie Capital of Texas. 2021 Squeeze Box Market Day

Public Safety Center Groundbreaking Celebration
- The community is invited to join the City of Kyle for the Public Safety Center Groundbreaking Celebration on Friday, Sept. 17, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. in Kyle, Texas. The groundbreaking event will provide community members an opportunity to learn more about the features of the Public Safety Center. The building will serve as a facility dedicated to serving the public safety needs of the Kyle community as well as a place to honor veterans and first responders. This $37 million project will grant room for the Police Department to grow over the next 20 years and beyond. The Public Safety Center will also allow the Police Department to expand its services with dedicated space to: -Improve emergency response times; -Accommodate victims or residents experiencing trauma as a result of crime; -Create an investigations suite and canine unit; -Manage evidence processing and storage; -Increase officer training and pursue accreditation; and, -Expand community-based programs and mental health services. Doggie Dip 2022 at James Adkins Pool

- The community is invited to join the City of Kyle for the Dialogue for Peace and Progress 2021 – Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month on Friday, Oct. 1, starting at 7 p.m. The Dialogues for Peace and Progress are an event series that takes place in conjunction with Black History Month, Hispanic Heritage Month and Juneteenth and works to join community members and leaders for open and honest conversations to raise awareness and, if necessary, facilitate change in the City of Kyle. Kyle Founders' Parade 2021
- Best locations to watch the Kyle Founders' Parade is on either side of Center Street between Gregg-Clarke Park and Mary Kyle Hartson City Square Park. Please stay on sidewalks or grassy areas along Center Street. Do not run into the street when the parade is going by. Parade route is along Center Street starting at Gregg-Clarke Park and ending at Front Street downtown. 10:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Birthday party for Kyle will be held on Burleson Street on the city square and will include birthday cake, music and family fun. The town of Kyle was platted and the first lots sold sometime around the 15th of October, 1880. Parades through downtown around the middle of October have been a tradition since. Center Street Tick-or-Treat
- The City of Kyle Parks and Recreation Department invites you to Center Street Trick-or-Treat on Saturday, Oct. 22, from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Mary Kyle Hartson City Square Park, 101 S. Burleson Rd. Local businesses and organizations will set up tents and tables at Mary Kyle Hartson City "Scare" Park to provide a fun and safe opportunity for trick-or-treating. We invite all "ghosts" and "goblins" young and old to come out to our Treat Trail for a fun afternoon of treats as well as a costume and pumpkin decorating contest! The costume contest will be judged at 1 p.m. The pumpkin decorating contest will be judged at 2:30 p.m. and all participants must decorate their pumpkin on-site. Paint and pumpkins will be provided. There will be 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prizes for the costume and pumpkin decorating contests for each of the following age groups: Ages 0-6 Ages 7-12 Ages 12-18 Many local businesses will hand out candy and host activities. Veterans Day Parade
- The City of Kyle in partnership with VFW Post 12058 and AMVETS will be hosting a Veterans Day Parade and Celebration on Saturday to honor local veterans. The parade will start at 12 p.m. Parade participants will begin at VFW Post 12058 and travel west along Center Street. The parade route will conclude at Gregg-Clarke Park. After the parade, participants and citizens are invited to attend the commemoration event and festivities. The day will include a war bird flyover, market vendors, family friendly activities, and culminate with a fireworks display. The best locations to view the Veterans Day Parade is on either side of Center Street between VFW Post 12058 and Gregg-Clarke Park. To keep everyone safe, the city is asking attendees to stay on sidewalks or grassy areas along Center Street and not to run into the street when the parade is going by.
