12 - 21 Heart of the Tine Trunk - Heritage Musical - The Broadway style hit musical, Heart of the Tin Trunk, opened to rave reviews and sellout crowds last summer. Due to popular demand, Backstage, Inc. (a non-profit organization) is pleased to announce that the show will be staged again this summer at the Festival Institute in Round Top. This original production not only entertains, but also tells the story of a culture and heritage still very much alive in the heart of Texas. Through music, dance, and the magic of the stage, this musical follows a young girl who thought she had all the answers after her graduation. But it's her grandmother's old tin trunk, with its quilt, a picture and a wedding dress, that leads to the girl's own discovery, adventure and love. Based on the true story of a Fayette County family, the play centers around the Fayette County, Texas immigrants, the Czechs and Germans who made Central Texas their home.
