18 - 21VA0215003e001 - Emporia Virginia Peanut Festival - This 62nd annual family-fun event features a daily carnival with thrilling rides and games for all ages and favorite fair food, live music & DJ entertainment (Friday - Saturday), and additional Saturday festivities including fireworks (9pm), a food court (10am-11pm), parade (11am), Car & Truck Show (noon-4pm), and a farm animal petting zoo, arts & crafts, tractor displays, Southeast Virginia Ancestry Skills, and Living History & Cultural Exhibits (noon-5pm).

Admission, parking and live entertainment are free.

Musical highlights:
• Friday - DJ Andy Lucy (6:30pm); Blackwater Band (7:30-10:30pm)
• Saturday - The Rhythm Express (12:15-3:15pm); DJ Ricky Adams (12:30-5pm); Sons of Earl (4:15-7:15pm); Feature Attraction Band (7:30-10:30pm)

Unlimited ride wristbands (for riders 36" & taller) are $30 while supplies last, or online before 5pm Thurs., Sept. 19 at DreamlandAmusements.com for $20, 2/$35 or 4/$60. See the carnival website for advance savings on ride tickets and discount coupons for rides and food.

Midway hours are 5-10pm Thursday, 5-11pm Friday, 1-11pm Saturday, and 1-7pm Sunday on The Armory grounds at 105 School St. No unaccompanied carnival guests under age 21.
