Come tell your story!!!! at First Friday Storynight
- Come tell your story!!!! Please join The Mythsinger Foundation and host Brian Rohr for a special night of stories and song at "First Friday Storynight at BLTC." 7-9pm. This month's featured storyteller is... YOU! While each month we typically have an open mic section for anyone to share their stories, people often would like more time than is allocated. So this month, we are having a whole night of Open Mic. Everyone who signs up will have 5-15 minutes to share their story on whatever topic they like, in whatever mode they choose. There are only two rules: 1) It needs to obviously be a story and 2) No reading. Everything much be shared in the oral tradition. Beyond that you have the freedom. Share it in spoken word, in poetics, as a song, or standing on your head. Dance while you tell the story if you feel called, tonight is a night for your story to be heard. About the Host: Brian Rohr is a poet, storyteller and healing arts practitioner living here in Port Townsend, WA. Over the last two years he has shared stories, typically the old myths and folktales, to national and international audiences. About First Friday Storynight This monthly event explores the art and ritual of the oral tradition: sharing the old myths, folk tales, and fairy tales along with more modern stories and personal sharings. Showcased will be local and visiting storytellers, musicians and weavers of magic with words. Each month, there are two to three featured tellers, and space for guests in the audience to share a story or two during the open mic sections.
