Smithville Lake Water Sports

Boating - Smithville Lake has over 175 miles of shoreline offering excellent boating opportunities. Five multi-lane boat launch ranps and excellent parking for trailers insure easy accessibility to all parts of this 7,200-acre lake. Rental boats are available at the two full-service marinas located on the lake.Sailboating - Slips, mooring and dry sail facilities are available for rent. A special sailboat launching area is available for the exclusive use of sail boating. In addition, shower facilities are conveniently located nearby. Water Skiing & Innertubing - The southern half of the lake basin is available for water skiing and innertubing on a year-round basis. The Kansas City Water Ski Club has a slalom course near Little Platte that is open to the public once a month during the summer months. Water skiing and innertubing activities are confined to the area south of Highway W and west of Camp Branch Bridge.
